The ‘RA-01’, which was debuted at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo between 1-4 May 2023, is a 53-foot semi-trailer installed with an electric axle and energy storage system.

Over the past several months, the share price of the battery electric vehicle manufacturer has tumbled by 90%, from USD3.25 at the end of March to USD0.32 per share on 13 June. As of writing (25 July), the company’s value stood at USD0.14 per share.

The new heavy-duty battery is available in two options, 52 kWh and 56 kWh which can support both 650V and 800V motorisation. It can be charged and discharged with a continuous current of 160A at 2 degrees Celsius and is suitable for peak charge and discharge of 400A at 5 degrees Celsius.  

The 13-million-dollar project to develop a new charging hub for EV freight trucks will be located on DTNA’s Redford facility in Detroit due to its proximity to the 1-96 highway and its power supply capabilities.

The reefer semi-trailer is equipped with a Carrier electric refrigeration system that is powered when the vehicle is stationary by a battery charged by an electric grid connection, and, when in motion, by regenerative braking energy produced by a Valx electric trailer axle, eliminating emissions from the refrigeration equipment.

SWM, which manages 40 percent of Malaysia’s waste collection services, is upgrading its fleet with 250 Hino 500 Series refuse trucks which will pair the Hino J08E-WK engine with the Allison 3000 Series six-speed fully automatic transmission with Power Take-Off.

The contract, with the Swedish public operator, Keolis Sverige, comprises 50 Ebusco 3.0 12-metre e-buses with an option to purchase an additional 75.

Ebusco announced it is to supply German public transport operator Südwestdeutsche Landesverkehrs GmbH (SWEG) with another 25 Ebusco 2.2 12-metre buses after the same company ordered 10 last year which are now in operation.

The order from CTM Cagliari comprises a mixture of standard and articulated Urbino electric models: 80 12-metre vehicles and 18 artic vehicles.

The German manufacturer took part in a study which purportedly shows that its upcoming battery electric truck is quieter by up to 14.4 dBA1 than its conventional diesel equivalent (in this case, a TGX 18.510).

Under the banner of the “ZF New Energy Vehicle eDrive Project” – which has reportedly opened two e-mobility plants in China since 2021 – the new factory will cover an area of 8.3 hectares and employ 900 workers when complete.

Using the app (“TreadManager”), the scanner calculates tyre tread depths using 3D colour-coded imagery showing tyre conditions, tread warnings and any safety alerts including under-inflations, wheel alignment issues or damages.
