This acquisition strengthens Hitachi’s (Hitachi Energy’s Grid-eMotion division**) position in the electric mobility sector by expanding its product portfolio and production capacity of its electric vehicle charging equipment.

The St1 group plans on building more energy stations across the Nordics, with Kempower set to provide all the necessary charging equipment, a potentially lucrative contract for the firm as they look to capitalise on the European EV transition. 

Powering America’s Commercial Transportation (PACT) claims it is a new “voice for zero-emission commercial vehicle infrastructure", citing a lack of sufficient charging infrastructure for battery-electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

This real-time monitoring software should enhance battery performance and improve the operational efficiency of the e-buses. The new BDS is set to debut in February 2024 in a range of 51 electric buses rolled out by the transport authority Metrobús, based in Mexico City.

This megawatt charging container was unveiled at the company’s headquarters in Winterthur late last month and features two CCS Charging points, each with an output of 420 kilowatts, making a total power capacity of 840kWs.

The prototype Megawatt Charging System (MCS) is intended to fully recharge a heavy-duty truck in 30-40 minutes, allowing a driver to charge his vehicle up and obtain up to 500 kilometres additional range during his statutory 45-minute break.
