The new ‘Charging Management’ service is intended to increase fleets’ productivity and uptime and reduce the number of unplanned charging sessions.

The funding will cover both the purchase of electric buses and the installation of necessary charging infrastructure. Each school bus can receive up to USD 470,000 in grants, which includes up to USD 95,000 for charging infrastructure.

A total of thirty charging points are planned, which MAN says would allow for up to five hundred trucks and buses to be recharged per day.

Last month, Fastcharge opened the country's first electric-truck-dedicated charging hub, just outside of Oslo. Kempower installed the equipment (high-powered Satellite DC chargers) but the smart e-mobility solutions provider Wennstrom, is responsible for the service and maintenance of the EV charging infrastructure.

At a Venture Logistics facility in the Midwest, the project partners will test a 500-kW charging system with two Class 8 battery electric trucks to see what benefits wireless charging could bring to goods transportation.

The agreement is initially for installation of charging bays for customers with cars and light vans and trucks, but also to undertake a feasibility study to add charging equipment for delivery trucks.

The technology which Milence demonstrated is the result of a partnership with Power Electronics which was agreed earlier this year.

This will relieve prohibitive upfront costs for customers whilst improving charging efficiency and energy management as many businesses look to capitalise on Californian state funding to transition fleets to zero emissions.

The truck charging site will be located specifically within the bounds of the Able Humber Port, just north of Immingham on the southern bank of the Humber estuary in northeastern England.

Eight operators will benefit from the success of a bid made by charging-as-a-service firm Zenobē, including major fleets such as Stagecoach and McGill’s Buses.

The company will use the funds to add automation capabilities to the production lines by introducing robots. This will increase the production capacity of its Zielona Góra factory, in order to meet the growing demand for EV chargers in Europe.

The charging hub will be built in Bagnolo San Vito, a town located near Mantua and the A22 Autostrada del Brennero.
