The TransMilenio system in the city of Bogotá, Colombia, claims to have an electric bus fleet of over 1,600 vehicles, the second largest in South America behind Santiago in Chile.

Siemens has launched the 400kW DC SICHARGE D fast charger for the electric HGV market. The charger allows for up to four vehicles to be charged simultaneously using only one grid connection, optimising space and delivering financing savings for Charge Point Operators (CPOs).

Using EasyMile’s autonomous driving technology and Rocsys’ ‘ROC-1’ hands-free charger, the two companies plan to completely automate the process of recharging a self-driving electric vehicle.

Autocar Chairman, Andrew Taitz said that setting up hands-free charging at terminals would improve efficiency and therefore boost productivity in yard operations.

The planned charging station will be located near Varberg, a settlement which lies between the cities of Gothenburg and Malmö and is reportedly a popular stop-off point for hauliers.

The facility houses 65 DC 180kW fast chargers with a capacity to charge 200 electric HGVs a day. Einride claims that this is the largest electric HGV charging station in North America.

“The 5,000 Hydrogen Vehicle Challenge”, a government programme which supported the development of the fuel station, says the opening of the station on Highway 2 marked a “significant milestone” in its project to put 5,000 hydrogen or dual fuel vehicles on the road in Alberta province.

The Department of Energy claims that, by funding these projects, it will facilitate the production of up to 50,000 new medium- and heavy-duty trucks and the supply of enough hydrogen to fuel nearly 170,000 long haul trucks in a single year.

Delta claims that its new 500kW DC fast EV charger (UFC 500) can fully charge a 460 kW powered electric truck/bus within two hours, whilst simultaneously charging two EVs at up to 250kW each. The USP, according to Delta, is the power ratio versus its compactness/footprint ratio. This is largely due to the patented internal circuit topology.

BorgWarner has installed a “super-fast” 960kW liquid-cooled high-power supercharging HGV electric charger at the Decathlon warehouse in Goodman Citylink near Beijing.

Voith HySTech GmbH is based at the group’s site in Garching in the state of Bavaria, where hydrogen storage tanks made from carbon composites are currently being made.

BP Pulse has acquired the 21-acre Ashford International truck stop in Kent with plans to electrify the site with twenty-megawatt chargers in Q1 2026. This acquisition signifies BP’s long-term plan - creating a European-wide EV charging network.
