The company received an order for 16 units of its lighTram Tosa double-articulating trolleybus from the Italian city of Vicenza thanks to EUR 19 million in state funding to local transport company SVT, who plan to deploy the fleet on the LAM Rossa line in 2027.

The company has equipped 115 Iveco Eurocargo ML150 4×4 trucks with the Allison 3000 Series six-speed fully automatic transmission with Power Take-Off. Built to handle steep inclines, the trucks have been shipped and will be in service across several Australian states facing bushfire emergencies.

Iveco announced a positive set of financial results for the 2023 year, including EUR 16 billion in consolidated revenues (up 13% from 2022), an adjusted EBITA of EUR 940 million (up EUR 413 million compared to 2022) and an adjusted net income of EUR 352 million (up EUR 127 million from 2022 figures).

The total number of city buses with alternative drivelines in European Union 27 countries plus the UK, Norway (NO), Iceland (ICE) and Switzerland (EU 27+4) totalled 13,466 units  comprising 6,354 electric buses (excludes trolley buses), 4,022 hybrid-electric buses, 2,883 CNG buses and 207, hydrogen (fuel cell) buses.

Iveco Bus has delivered its first batch of diesel ICE Crossway buses (order of 370) to Dakar, Senegal, with the remaining units to be delivered by the end of Q1 2024, along with a batch of spare parts and tools needed for maintenance and upkeep ensuring optimum efficiency and performance.

The companies are developing a scalable solid-state battery using sodium-metal-chloride battery cells. Comau has been tasked with designing the cell digitalisation and automation strategy, which aims to accelerate solid-state battery development.

The company has recently announced a raft of orders, including 411 e-buses (E-WAY) to ATAC S.p.A. in Rome and 153 E-Way buses to Azienda Trasporti Milanesi S.p.A. (ATM) in Milan, Italy.

Following the acquisition, which is set to close shortly, SAF-Holland will be able to expand its offering of special axle systems which were not previously part of its product portfolio.

This acquisition strengthens Hitachi’s (Hitachi Energy’s Grid-eMotion division**) position in the electric mobility sector by expanding its product portfolio and production capacity of its electric vehicle charging equipment.

The project’s explicit goal is to “reduce the overall time and cost of battery production by at least 20%, in addition to lowering the number of physical experiments required and reducing material costs.” This will ultimately increase the competitiveness of the European battery industry.  

The front independent axle aims to increase the efficiency, balance and structure of the electric vehicles.

Bluebus is set to ship thirty of its 6-metre electric buses to Turin, Italy, to its local distributor Indcar, marking its debut in the Italian market.
