Scottish bus and coach manufacturer, Alexander Dennis Ltd, has welcomed confirmation by the New Zealand Government of its funding of NZD50m (GBP26m) to help councils fully decarbonise their public transport bus fleet by 2035.

Alexander Dennis Ltd in December announced delivery of the first of an initial order for 100, Enviro400ER plug-in hybrid double deck buses to the Republic of Ireland’s National Transport Authority; the first vehicles are expected to enter service in early 2021, 74 with Dublin Bus in the Irish capital, and a further 26 with Bus Éireann in Galway.

In response to growing demand in the UK for zero emission buses, Alexander Dennis Ltd and BYD UK, are extending their business partnership with the announcement they plan to assemble electric bus chassis in the UK starting in the second half of 2021.

Alexander Dennis Ltd has recently renewed its partnership with New Zealand bus body and coach builder, Kiwi Bus Builders, resulting in the delivery of six electric buses to Fullers360 for Auckland Transport services on Waiheke Island.

Bus and coach manufacturer, Alexander Dennis Ltd, has welcomed the Scottish Government’s award of GBP7.4m in funding to bus operators through the first round of the Scottish Ultra-Low Emission Bus Scheme.

Alexander Dennis Ltd, the bus and coach building subsidiary of NFI Group Inc, has begun the formal consultation of its previously announced restructuring programme in response to the significant fall in demand for new buses and coaches in the United Kingdom as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

From September 30, Colin Robertson (CBE), currently chief executive of Alexander Dennis Ltd, a subsidiary of Canada’s NFI Group Inc moves to NFI’s Board of Directors to serve in the role as Vice Chair.

Alexander Dennis Ltd subsidiary, Plaxton Ltd, has delivered 18 Panorama double deck coaches to Scottish Citylink and its contracted operators.
