Seating 62 passengers, these 10.8m long double-deckers are built on a BYD chassis and driveline.

ADL delivered its first batch of next-generation Enviro500EV electric double-deck buses to Hong Kong transport operator, Kowloon Motor Bus Company (KMB). This marks ADL’s first Enviro500EV double-deck buses in the Asia-Pacific region.

ADL will supply National Express 170 double-deck BYD ADL Enviro400EV electric buses, to be delivered by the end of 2024.

The site’s expansion will involve converting existing warehouse space into production lines to assemble the body on the new Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV battery-electric chassis. From August 2023, the facility will focus on the production of the new Enviro400EV, following a successful pilot programme to build Enviro400FCEV hydrogen fuel cell buses in Larbert.

The autonomous bus by Alexander Dennis will utilise an upgraded version of Fusion’s CAVStar autonomous driving software as it takes passengers along the 14-mile route across the Forth Road Bridge from the Ferrytoll Park & Ride in Fife to the Edinburgh Park Transport Interchange in Edinburgh.

UK bus fleet operators are choosing to further extend the ‘lives’ of their vehicles with refurbishment bookings through AD24, ADL’s digital aftermarket software.

There is a five-mile extension of the existing 14-mile autonomous bus trial (CAVForth) from Edinburgh Park station across the Forth Road Bridge in the UK in an attempt to gather more complex data, utilising an upgraded version of Fusion’s CAVStar autonomous driving software and ADL’s Enviro100EV electric bus.

ADL will supply Stagecoach with 55 low-emission electric double-deckers destined for operation in Oxfordshire in late 2023.  

UK bus and coach operator, Stagecoach, tested the first autonomous bus (Alexander Dennis Enviro200AV) to carry passengers over the Forth Road Bridge, near Edinburgh, as part of the CAVForth project.
