The joint venture, under the name ‘Roqit’, will develop a digital platform for the provision of various services, including management tools for fleets, insurance, hydrogen infrastructure, and emissions tracking, as well as data insights.

EYES will be renamed as ‘Quantron Italy srl’ and will be responsible for assembling and marketing Quantron vehicles for the Italian market.

The truck on show - based on the Freightliner Cascadia - had an 80-kg hydrogen storage capacity, but with 100 kg Quantron claims the vehicle range could reach between 750 and 850 miles.

Three hydrogen producers have signed strategic partnership deals with Quantron, while Westgass Hydrogen agreed a deal to provide hydrogen fuelling infrastructure for customers in the Nordics.

With exterior modifications to the cab in combination with a smart energy management system, Quantron claims the aerodynamic variant can improve the range of the QHM FCEV (700 km or 1,500 km, depending on the fuel storage volume) by up to 10%.

Quantron states that Norwegian Hydrogen will become its preferred supplier of hydrogen fuel for all of its trucks deployed in Nordic countries – namely, the ‘QHM FCEV’, a range of fuel-cell electric trucks based on the MAN TGX which was showcased at IAA Transportation 2022.

The German retrofit firm announced a series of appointments to key leadership positions in its ‘Quantron USA Inc’ subsidiary, which it established late last year. 

The 7.2-tonne cab-chassis - fitted with a swap body built by Göbel - is a new weight configuration in Quantron’s ‘QLI BEV’ range of light-duty vehicles based on the Iveco Daily.

The German retrofit firm reported an annual turnover of approximately EUR13m, a 25% year-on-year increase.

The new Chairman takes over from family shareholder Peter Haller, who will remain at Quantron as a board member.

Electromin, a turnkey e-mobility provider, will act as Quantron’s distribution partner in Saudi Arabia for the ‘Qargo 4 EV’, which was launched in April 2022.

Quantron has announced partnerships with two Indian companies and one British company, who have agreed to help Quantron develop its vehicle subscription service.
