Following two orders from operators in Hamburg for a total of 53 buses, the German manufacturer has announced that more than 700 of its electric buses have been ordered since the sales launch of the Lion’s City E range in 2020.

Seven million units of the Citan, Vito and Sprinter lines of light commercial vehicle have been delivered since the Sprinter was first launched in 1995.

Two Dutch bus builders, Ebusco Holding N.V., based in Deurne, and VDL Bus & Coach B.V., headquartered in Valkenswaard, have been awarded the Red Dot Award for their 3.0 and Citea models. VDL has previously won the award for its Citea bus in 2017.

Heliox B.V., based in Best, Netherlands, has installed charging infrastructure in a total of 100 cities worldwide. The 100th city, Seattle, is one of Heliox’s larger projects. Other significant charging installations include Amsterdam, Glasgow, and Hamburg.

Macon, Georgia-based school bus manufacturer Blue Bird Corp has received the largest order of electric school buses in its history from Modesto City Schools in California. The order covers 30 units, enough to convert nearly half of the school district’s fleet to zero emission vehicles. Deliveries of the vehicles are scheduled for Q4 2022.

The Czech manufacturing plant of Turin, Italy-based Iveco Bus, located in Vysoké Mýto, has produced its 150,000th bus. Located around 150km east of Prague, the plant has been producing vehicles since 1895, previously for historical Czech companies Sodomka and Karosa.

The firm diverted 99.9% of its waste from landfill, reduced its energy consumption by more than 16 million kWh, and installed a 1.17MW solar array at its plant in Huntingdon, Indiana.

Daimler Truck AG, based in Stuttgart, Germany, has announced the delivery of its very first series production eActros to operator DB Schenker. The eActros 300, produced at the Daimler plant in Wörth am Rhein, will be used for heavy-duty distribution.

The lighting and harness manufacturer will consolidate its existing operations into a single 200,000 sq ft facility, following fifty years in the business.
