Following two orders from operators in Hamburg for a total of 53 buses, the German manufacturer has announced that more than 700 of its electric buses have been ordered since the sales launch of the Lion’s City E range in 2020.

Seven million units of the Citan, Vito and Sprinter lines of light commercial vehicle have been delivered since the Sprinter was first launched in 1995.

Macon, Georgia-based school bus manufacturer Blue Bird Corp has received the largest order of electric school buses in its history from Modesto City Schools in California. The order covers 30 units, enough to convert nearly half of the school district’s fleet to zero emission vehicles. Deliveries of the vehicles are scheduled for Q4 2022.

Hexagon Purus ASA, based in Ålesund, Norway, has been selected to supply hydrogen tanks to New Flyer Industries, based in Winnipeg, Canada, for use in its Xcelsior CHARGE H2 fuel cell transit bus. The total value of the contract is estimated at around USD2 million.

Mercedes-Benz do Brasil recently delivered 110 Sprinter 416 vans to the Fire Department and 54 units of the same model to the Community Policing Program (Mobile Base) of the Military Police in São Paulo.

Iveco Latin America recently sold 224 trucks and vans to Ambev SA, a Brazilian company dedicated to the production of beverages to modernize its product delivery service fleet, in urban and suburban operations.

Librelato is to supply 300 tipping trailers through June this year to AMAGGI, a company with a strong presence in the agribusiness sector, and in the areas of commodities, logistics and operations and energy in Brazil.

Marcopolo is delivering a total of 77 Senior Charter minibuses, which are being electrified by local company Reborn Electric Motors, to Chile's Renta Bus Link Services.

VWCO finished the year 2021 reporting growth of almost 80% in exports, compared with the previous year, up from 4,680 units in 2020 to around 8,400 vehicles.

Starting in January this year, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and Marcopolo have exported a total of 328 coaches and buses to charter fleet operators in Chile for transporting employees of several mining companies. 

Austin, Texas-based truck retrofitter Hyliion Holdings Corp has recently received two orders for a total of 70 units of its Hypertruck ERX. 50 units have been purchased by GreenPath Logistics, with a further 20 units ordered by Mone Transport.

Solaris has announced a new framework agreement with Österreichische Postbus AG of Vienna, providing options to deliver up to 106 battery and fuel-cell electric buses between now and 2025.
