It is an ‘E-Tech D Wide 26-tonne’ truck with a special body built by Frappa; the body contains a carousel system which was designed by French engineering services firm Actemium.

The company appointed Joe Burke as the new Vice President of its North American commercial business, succeeding Dave Beasley, who is retiring after a 40-year career with Goodyear. Burke will report directly to the president of Goodyear Americas, Steve McClellan.

The 231-strong order will be delivered to the Canary Islands in batches over the next two years.

MAN has now built a prototype vehicle, with sensors on the roof and sides of the cab. The vehicle has already successfully covered its first kilometres at MAN's Munich test site and was due to undergo real road testing before the end of 2023.

From April next year, the Atego will be equipped with more cutting-edge safety assistance systems including, Active Brake Assist 6, emergency braking assistant and the Active Sideguard Assist 2 turning assistant.

The vehicle will be used to test its energy efficiency and aerodynamics, its ability to detect vulnerable road users through integrated ADAS technology, and the comfort and ergonomics of its interior fittings and cabin dashboard.

Continental officially inaugurated its new multimillion-euro corporate headquarters on the Hans-Böckler-Allee campus, in Hanover, Germany on December 13, 2023. The campus consists of six buildings, housing over 2,400 employees, in both the Tires and ContiTech groups.

Currently, the multinational is retreading more than one million of its commercial vehicle tyres a year throughout its retread plants/subsidiaries worldwide. This all falls below the ContiLifeCycle* sustainable strategy, aiming to maximise tyre longevity for customers and improve environmental sustainability.

Idem customers using its fleet management platform now have access to data collected from Thermo King products, including its refrigeration units and its ‘AxlePower’ energy recovery and storage system.

The truck, branded as ‘Paul Hydrogen Power’ (PH2P), is built on a 16-tonne Mercedes-Benz ‘Atego’ glider chassis and is powered by the ‘Voith Electrical Drive System’ (VEDS), which provides 310 kW of continuous power and 410 kW of peak power.

According to the terms of the agreement, Symbio will play the role of mentor to startups working in the hydrogen sector.

The deal follows on from a framework agreement signed last year, allowing for data transfer between TrailerConnect and TIP’s fleet management platform (‘TIP Insight’).
