The Volvo subsidiary has begun pilot testing its Class 6-7 battery electric truck range with four customers, according to an announcement made during Work Truck Week 2024 at the Indiana Convention Center.

The company claims that it has delivered some 1,500 electric buses to date.

With two of an order for five Switch EiV 22 buses for Gujarat delivered, these are the first e-double deck buses to be delivered to Gujarat; others are already in service in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

In collaboration with Esterer, a German tank body specialist, the 18.5-metre eEconic was equipped with a 40,000-litre fuel tanker trailer that draws electricity from the vehicle batteries, helping aid in the aircraft refuelling process by powering the fuel pump.

It is understood that cab and based chassis for the Rhino 5536e is a re-engineered chassis cab from China. It offers a gross combined vehicle weight (GCVW) of 55 tons is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that develops maximum output of 360hp @ 1200 rev/min and torque of 2400Nm @ 600 rev/min.

Bollinger’s B4 electric chassis cab now qualifies for an IRS 40,000 U.S. tax credit for commercial clean vehicles, under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022*. Deliveries of the B4 chassis cab are set for Q3 2024.
