Bandvulc has unveiled the new 315/80 fitment of its popular BD5 truck tyre retread. Bandvulc claims that the BD5 returns a 40% increase in lifetime mileage compared to its predecessor, the BD08.

The digital tyre management tool (“app”) can be accessed through any smart device and is free to use with five connected vehicles or less.  

Hankook is to supply its AH37 and DL11 medium and long-distance tyres for fitting on Hino’s L-series trucks produced at Hino Motors Canada Ltd in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, which are sold across North America market.

The app has multiple new functions, including the addition of the van and camper-van tyre segments. Commercial Vehicle (CV) tyre regulations from over 39 countries have been included, provided in 20 languages.

The joint venture facility will grow quickly over the next several years, with the aim of recycling one million metric tons of vehicle tyre material by 2030, representing a third of all end-of-life tyres in Europe. 

In the opening pages of its very first sustainability report, published in 2019, Iochpe-Maxion proclaimed its interest in “establishing a position of transparency for the market and society”. The Brazilian company – originally a logging firm and now one of the largest manufacturers of wheels and structural components for automotives and commercial vehicles – had pursued certain sustainability objectives prior to 2019, but these had been managed individually by its numerous subsidiaries.

The valve cap sensor is screwed directly onto the valve of a bus, truck or trailer tyre and measures the tyre pressure in real time. The data is accessed through the ContiConnect tyre app. This entry-level valve cap solution allows fleet managers quicker and easier tyre management, saving time and boosting profitability.

The demonstrator, located at Michelin’s plant in the commune of Bassens, is tooled to produce butadiene, an organic compound of hydrogen and carbon, from ethanol derived from biomass.

Founded in 2007, TST is primarily known for its tyre pressure monitoring systems for recreational vehicles, though it also serves applications such as agricultural trailers, construction equipment, and commercial transport vehicles.

Mark Gerardts, Giorgio Mariani, and Nuket Ozgur have been promoted to Business Unit President EMEA, CCO, and CFO respectively.

The company appointed Joe Burke as the new Vice President of its North American commercial business, succeeding Dave Beasley, who is retiring after a 40-year career with Goodyear. Burke will report directly to the president of Goodyear Americas, Steve McClellan.

Continental officially inaugurated its new multimillion-euro corporate headquarters on the Hans-Böckler-Allee campus, in Hanover, Germany on December 13, 2023. The campus consists of six buildings, housing over 2,400 employees, in both the Tires and ContiTech groups.
