Multinational tech company Nvidia has announced it is supplying its next-generation automotive computer architecture – boasting a processing power of up to 2,000 teraflops – to multiple OEMs and developers of autonomous driving technologies, including Plus and Waabi.

Using a prototype charger developed together with the e-mobility division of ABB, MAN charged up its ‘eTruck’ with more than 700 kW of power and an electric current of 1,000 amps.

Plus says that on-road testing of Traton trucks installed with its ‘SuperDrive’ Level 4 autonomous driving technology has already begun in the USA and Sweden.

The new model is a battery electric version of the longstanding ‘8900’ range, designed for extended city, intercity, and commuter operations.

This being one of the biggest orders for its luxury coaches, the vehicles are to be built in full at the Volvo Buses India factory in Hoskote in accordance with the Automotive Indian Standard (Code AIS 119).

From March 21 until the start of June 2024, travellers will be able to hop on the Yutong TCe12 electric coach on a Flix Bus route between London, Bristol and Newport (South Wales).

The new Xcient has top of the range Isringhausen seats and front-axle air suspension.

The iQ-Cruise will be integrated with Eaton’s portfolio of automated manual transmissions, including the Eaton Cummins range.

The 100 trucks powered by B100 biodiesel are due for delivery starting May this year, and represent a landmark sale in the country.

Called ‘FH Aero’, the redesigned truck features a cab which has been extended by 24 cm at the front, making it more aerodynamic.

From the middle of this year, Volvo will start offering the FH16 with a new version of the ‘D17’, which it claims is the “strongest engine in the industry”.

The new ‘eTrucks’, which are based on the ‘TGX’ and ‘TGS’ heavy truck ranges, were launched at the end of October 2023.
