At last year’s Busworld, Voith Turbo celebrated the 70th anniversary of its ‘DIWA’ line of automatic transmissions for urban and suburban buses. The German manufacturer had just brought out the latest addition to the DIWA range, the ‘DIWA NXT’. This reimagining of the city bus transmission, incorporating a mild hybrid system (optional), appeared on the scene when it still seemed that fully electric was the only way to go. Markus Bischoff – who is responsible for the DIWA product line – believes the company made a “brave decision” in supporting the development of the mild-hybrid transmission; today, he feels vindicated by the resurgence of interest in hybrids. “The main request we get from our customers,” Bischoff told Truck & Bus Builder, “is affordability.”

With these tyres, Michelin claims that operators could save annually up to EUR2,200 per truck with the X Line and up to EUR380 per truck with the X Multi.

In July, Renault Trucks hosted journalists in Lyon, France for a media day packed with presentations, workshops, a factory tour, and a ride and drive. No substantial announcements were made; instead, the point of the event was to show how Renault Trucks’ efforts to switch to electric vehicle production have moved from an “industrial and commercial reality” to an “operational reality”.

The Xinghan G hydrogen fuel cell truck is Farizon’s latest addition to its growing range of new energy commercial vehicles, which also includes battery, methanol and hydrogen powered trucks.

The Viaggio G8 1050, designed specifically for charter and tourism operations, brings the advanced features of the Generation 8 series to a new market segment.

This new optional feature, the company says, allows customers to select a material that significantly enhances durability and profitability for their vehicles.

The O 500 RSD 6x2 coach chassis is available in two versions, model 2445 featuring a 450hp Mercedes-Benz OM 460 LA engine and the model 2438 with a 380hp engine option.

Located at Vrachtwagenparking Ketenis, the hub has ten combined charging system (CCS) chargers which can be plugged into twenty trucks at once, delivering 400 kW of power to each vehicle.

With the standard tank option storing LNG, the Touring can cover more than 1,000 km before needing to refuel.
