Blue Energy Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (Blue Energy Motors) of Pune, is a two-year-old start-up backed by a Singapore-based finance firm.

Preliminary specifications include a 300-320 kW motor, a 2-speed transmission, a 90-100 kW fuel cell stack, and a small lithium-ion battery pack to provide extra power.

The Partner Super truck is powered by the Ashok Leyland ZD30 BS VI diesel engine offering an output power of 104 kW (140 hp) @ 2750 rev/min and maximum torque of 360 Nm @ 1350-2750 rev/min. It is matched with a manual Ashok Leyland 6-speed overdrive gearbox.

As part of the agreement, TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Ltd will supply, operate, and maintain all 921 units 12-metre low-floor electric buses for a period of 12 years.
