BYD debuted two new electric buses for the European market. These new buses joined two established BYD models on the stand: the BYD eBus B19 and the BYD eBus B15.

A press statement from the EU Commission read: “The proposed amendment introduces a 100% zero-emission target for urban buses by 2035, while setting an intermediate target of 85% for this category by 2030. The Council agreed to exempt inter-urban buses from this target."

The ‘Athenia Envi’ heat pump is a HVAC unit which uses R-744 (i.e., CO2) - with a global warming potential of 1 - as a refrigerant.

Habas is a branch of a 67-year-old holding company that specialises in producing industrial gases. The holding company decided to invest in the automotive sector in 2021 and set up a bus-building arm of the corporation. The first port of call was establishing a factory in the Manisa Organised Industrial Zone, in Manisa, Turkey.

The Lithuanian group presented a 12-metre battery electric bus (seating up to 34) with a distinctive aesthetic and material design.

Ebusco is set to supply another twenty Ebusco 2.2 12-metre buses to Belgian transport operator Multiobus. The company also confirmed that the framework agreement signed last year with Deutsche Bahn will be extended until 2026.

Executives claimed that they have an annual production capacity of 5,000 buses and a strategy to target the Middle Eastern and African markets.

The company has won a contract from Colas Rail Italiato to install its Grid-eMotion charging infrastructure in Genoa to aid the Val Bisagno Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line in Northern Italy. This contract will support the local Genoa City Council’s plan to decarbonise its public transport network by helping bring 34 electric buses online.

The ‘eC24s’, which has a maximum range of 280 kilometres, measures 7 metres in length by 2.55 metres in width and carries up to 41 passengers.

Chief Commercial Officer Eric Baleviez announced to the press at Busworld that groundbreaking on a new plant in Albi would happen either later this year or early next year.
