The 2024 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham from 23 – 25 April, was a somewhat sombre affair without the truck OEMs, yet plenty of exhibitors turned up to display their new product offerings. Of course, the T&BB team was in attendance to bring you all the latest news from the show.

As the TRAKr launches in more and more markets, SAF-Holland is ramping up its production: “We see great opportunities for electrified trailer axles,” said Olaf Drewes, Director Group Innovation.

At the CV Show 2024, held between 23-25 April at the NEC in Birmingham, UK, EV manufacturer B-ON GmbH of Luxembourg announced a joint venture with Chinese car manufacturer Chery Automobile Co. Ltd, based in Wuhu, China.

Terberg says that, compared to its predecessor, the YT223CC boasts a redesigned cabin offering improved ergonomics and functionality.

The Ebusco 3.0 18-metre articulated city bus is designed for urban and regional transport operations and has a capacity for 150 passengers. It is powered with a choice of cobalt-free LFP 350+ and 500+ kWh battery packs, offering a range of up to  700 km.

Customers (workshops and fleet operators) in Continental Europe can now purchase more than 300 branded truck parts, covering over 80 percent of common wear parts on trucks, through the Krone website.

Production is slated to begin in 2025 at the Iveco bus plant in Vysoké Myto, Czech Republic. Available in three lengths (10.7,  12, 13 metres, pop and LINE versions), the bus is compatible with XTL (X-To-Liquid) renewable fuels.

The fluorine-free Forrex EVO fire suppression agent acts by creating a resistant foam blanket on top of the catalyst fuelling the fire. This new suppression agent will be rolled out across its entire fire suppression product line in both the highway and off-highway (mining) segments.

Peterbilt’s new system, called ‘Digital Vision System-Mirrors’ (DVS-M), employs three high dynamic range or HDR cameras on the driver and passenger sides of the cab.

With series production expected late this year, Daimler has launched eActros 600 customer trials in Germany. These tests provide valuable real-world feedback not only on the truck but also on the reliability of the public charging infrastructure/network.

The plan is to start mass production of a battery-powered version of the Hilux pickup truck for Thailand and for export.
