EVision is a new service from Isuzu to provide customers with the process of buying an electric vehicle.

The company is set to supply its high-voltage eFan system to a global commercial vehicle OEM for use in both the European and North American markets, which marks the first eFan system business in North America for BorgWarner.

The ‘Lion5’ cab-chassis is categorised by Lion Electric as a Class 5 vehicle, but in fact it is being offered in configurations up to 26,000 lbs gross vehicle weight rating (i.e., the upper limit of Class 6).

Each truck is built on Battle Motors’ electric cab-chassis platform, which is powered by a 500-horsepower ‘Cascadia Motion’ motor supplied by BorgWarner.

The ‘AxTrax 2’ is a follow-up to ZF’s existing line of integrated electric portal axles for buses, delivering 210 kW of continuous power and 26,000 Nm peak output torque.

The ‘W56’ is based on what Workhorse says is its first fully-designed, purpose-built chassis platform to be built from the ground up, offering cargo space exceeding 1,000 cubic feet and a payload of approximately 10,000 lbs.

Volvo Group NA showcased a range of new and upcoming products, including its new e-axle and the cellcentric fuel cell system, and announced the extension of EV service provision to 36 locations across North America.

Called ‘nMotion’, this line of products works either in tandem with or separately from ConMet’s ‘Preset Plus’ wheel-end hub motors to deliver auxiliary power.

Led by seasoned experienced transportation industry personnel - Richard Welford, CEO, Anu Kabra, CTO and Tom Hughes, CSM - the new company aims to supply the goods transportation and distribution industry with a revolutionary electric axle design.

The truck – a Peterbilt Model 579 – featured a Cummins ‘X15H’ engine, providing up to 500 horsepower (372 kW) and up to 1,900 lb-ft torque.

Both companies will be making Class 8 electric trucks using fuel cell drive systems developed by Japanese firm Toyota, with Kenworth aiming to begin customer deliveries next year.
