Scheduled to go into operation in July 2023, the plant will be able to recycle up to 15,000 metric tons of battery materials a year and is currently undergoing a series of diagnostic tests using old batteries from different manufacturers to develop and refine the operational mechanism to discharge, dismember, recycle and shred the remaining battery material.

The Kässbohrer-bodied truck, with a combination weight reaching up to 42 tons when fully laden with eight cars, is powered by a 230-kWh battery.

The MCV-bodied Volvo buses, comprising 150 double deck and 20 single deck, will be delivered to Stagecoach in the summer of 2024, serving in the town of Stockport in Greater Manchester.

DB Schenker has ordered 100 new battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros Long Haul trucks from Daimler Truck AG, which are set to be delivered by Q4 2024.  

Customers will consult them on the best e-powertrain layout for their needs, considering factors such as: maximising use of the available space; optimising weight distribution and the vehicle’s total weight; optimising vehicle payload and power, based on the customer’s use case.

BAE Systems will fit its new Gen3 electric power and propulsion system into three ElDorado Axess EVO-FC zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) buses to operate in Rochester, New York.

To strengthen the Mercedes-Benz truck service and sales network in Western Germany, Daimler Truck has opened a new 6,200 square metre Commercial Vehicle (CV) centre in Haan. It includes a high-voltage work stations for BEVs and a new warehouse capable of stocking more than 10,000 spare parts.

The CeTrax lite is made for commercial vehicles weighing under 7.5 tonnes and is geared towards inner city and last-mile applications.

The new facility will house up to 480 technicians and 100 commercial staff with the aim of training staff in both vehicle repair and maintenance as well as customer-facing skills that will be put into use in Iveco dealerships.

First Bus will convert the Leicester depot by installing new electric charging infrastructure provided by Heliox.
