Symbio has announced the establishment of 'Innoplate' with the German rolling element bearings manufacturer - a joint venture for the production of metallic bipolar plates, a key component in hydrogen fuel cell stacks for electric vehicles. 

Air Liquide SAS, based in Paris, CaetanoBus S.A., located in Porto, and Toyota Motor Corp, headquartered in Toyota, have signed a memorandum of understanding with the intention of developing integrated hydrogen solutions, including infrastructure and heavy-duty vehicles.

Voith is developing a hydrogen storage tank, called Carbon4Tank, for vehicle fuelling purposes made from carbon-fibre-reinforced-polymers (CFRP), enabling greater storage capacity without compromising on payload or performance. 

Santa Monica-based consultancy and host of the ACT Expo, Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA), released its annual State of Sustainable Fleets report at the ACT Expo in Long Beach, California. In the report’s conclusion, GNA states that significant market and regulatory forces are creating a “perfect storm” that is driving the adoption of zero-emission vehicles across North America.

First Hydrogen Corp, based in Vancouver, Canada, has announced its hydrogen strategy for the UK market. The firm plans to build four hydrogen production facilities across the UK, each featuring a refuelling station to serve commercial vehicles.

Rochester, New York-based Hyzon Motors Inc has announced the appointment of Samuel Chong to the role of Chief Financial Officer. Chong will succeed Mark Gordon who had held the position since August 2020.

cellcentric GmbH & Co, a 50:50 joint venture between Daimler Truck AG and AB Volvo, has announced it intends to build a hydrogen fuel cell production facility in Weilheim, Germany.

Concentric AB has received a new development contract to supply electric coolant pumps for a fuel cell application. The customer, an unnamed global truck, bus, and construction OEM, will use the e-pumps for cooling the fuel cells on a range of vehicles.

Fuel cell manufacturer Loop Energy Inc has been named as the winner of a tender process to supply Tevva Motors Ltd with its 50kW T505 fuel cell system for Tevva’s 7.5 tonne electric truck platform. The two companies state they are now working towards finalising a broader supply agreement.

Osman Boyner, CEO and founder of London-based electric powertrain developer BEDEO, has stated that he believes EV incentives are too focused on passenger cars and must be adjusted to focus on the commercial vehicle sector if governments want to make meaningful change.
