The retrofitted fuel-cell electric bus is currently operating in a ten-week test and demonstration programme in two locations in England, as part of a project supported by UK Research and Innovation.

Van Hool used Euro Mobility Expo in Paris, France in June (7-9) to introduce the first edition of a completely new range of 100% zero emission buses onto the European and world markets. Available in four different lengths and equipped with a choice of zero emission powertrains of battery-electric, fuel cell (hydrogen) and trolley.

The company states that it is responding to demand from customers affected by global supply chain issues. The launch of the program is expected in North America late in 2022.

Turin, Italy-based Iveco Group NV has announced it intends to resume bus production in Italy. The firm intends to assemble hydrogen fuel cell and battery-electric buses at the Iveco plant in Foggia, southern Italy, with alternative propulsion systems produced in Turin.
