Mining and refining company Altilium Metals is committed to opening the country’s largest EV battery recycling facility by 2025, following a Government Innovation award for over GBP3m.

Dayco is set to invest USD11.5 million in a new manufacturing plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to make drive belts - the new facility is scheduled to open in Q1 of 2024.

Equipped with a 30-kW fuel cell, a 33-kWh battery and a tank containing 4.5 kg of hydrogen at 350 bar, the bus offers a 300 km range with up to 15 passengers, and a 5-minute refuelling time.

Production of these batteries will commence in late 2023, once their new manufacturing facility in Jamestown, New York, is fully operational.

EVR will design as well as develop electric motors based on proprietary Trapezoidal Stator-Radial Flux Permanent Magnet (TS – RFPM) topology for EKA that are smaller, lighter and lower-cost motors, which can be tailored to user requirements.

By 2030, PowerCo hopes to receive up to 40-GWh worth of critical battery materials from Umicore – enough to make batteries to supply 550,000 EVs annually.
