Orders can now be placed for Scania’s 40-tonne tipper truck, installed with the company’s own self-driving software which it has tested over six years in mining operations in Australia.

The ‘Automated Vehicles Act’ (passed on 20 May) will require self-driving vehicles to achieve a safety level “as high as careful and competent drivers” before being allowed onto public roads.

PlusVision is the software that Plus uses to enable CVs installed with its vehicle autonomy systems (SAE Level 0-4) to “see” the road ahead and any other road users around them.
