SCALAR, the name of ZF's AI-powered digital fleet management platform, was announced at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in New Delhi.

Anadolu Automobil Romania (AAR) is the official distributor of Karsan vehicles in Romania. By the end of 2025, Karsan is expected to bring the total number of its electric buses in Romania to 525 units, up from 240 in 2023.

The first four units were handed over to Asti Servizi Pubblici S.p.A. (ASP S.p.A.) in Asti, Italy.

The contract is the second major order from a North American customer announced by Solaris since it laid out its strategy for entering the market at UITP 2023.

The companies say the partnership aims to deploy 1,000 electric commercial vehicles (eLCVs and buses) over the next three to five years.

This new test track is for testing vehicle braking and is specifically for testing Electronic Stability Control (ESC) systems.

The UK government committed GBP 86 million to improve air quality in the region, of this amount, GBP 51.1 million is allocated directly towards bus investments, which includes the acquisition of 40 fully electric buses and the necessary charging infrastructure.

The bus is equipped with the Allison T280 transmission from Allisons' Torqmatic Series* of transmissions.

Deliveries will be completed by Spring 2026 before the region serves as host to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In the 2000s, there were three major manufacturers of buses and bus bodies in the United Kingdom: Alexander Dennis of Scotland; Wrightbus of Northern Ireland; and Optare, a relatively young company based in the north of England. For a time, Optare probably accounted for a quarter of the buses and coaches produced in the UK. Optare entered the 2020s under a new name, Switch Mobility Ltd, signalling its intention to embrace the electric era wholeheartedly. However, among the British manufacturers, it remains firmly in third place: according to statistics provided by Switch, it sold 33 buses in 2022, 44 in 2023, and 125 in 2024. In that same period, Switch’s plant in England has produced more than two hundred vehicles, the vast majority of which were sold to various UK operators, including Stagecoach, Arriva, and many more.
