Iveco has unveiled its new HD BEV (Heavy-Duty Battery Electric Vehicle) and HD FCEV (Heavy-Duty Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles) under the Iveco brand. 

The school bus utilises 196kWh batteries which have 25 percent more capacity than previous generations and fast charging capabilities allows the bus to be fully charged in three hours. Furthermore, this generation is 450 kg (1000 pounds) lighter, making it more efficient than its predecessors.

Sigma Powertrain's flagship product is the EMAX, an electric drive system for electric vehicles in classes 6-8, as well as offroad vehicles and heavy equipment. It incorporates a transmission based on a patented design which uses no hydraulics.

Whilst details remain sparse at this point on the power source (fuel cell or hydrogen ICE?), the new i6 coach is set to have a minimum range of 500km on a single refill. Irizar says that the hydrogen coach forms part of its “future business strategy and technology roadmap, which includes the Irizar Efficient range of multi-technology vehicles.”

The eight-seater vehicle, which accommodates seven passengers and a safety officer, uses 42Dot’s in-house self-driving integrated platform ‘Tap’.

The agreement is with two Chinese vehicle manufacturers.

In the first half of 2023 the joint venture, based in Taiwan’s capital Taipei, sold 50 battery-powered buses (e-Bus) based on the ‘Model T’ prototype that was developed by Hon Hai based on its MIH purpose-built open platform.

Articulated, full low floor and with capacity for 130 passengers, the urban AzureA18BR is imported CBU from China and offers an average range of 270 kilometres.

Starting in January 2025, the Urbasolar group will supply Keolis with an annual 18 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity generated at French solar farms. This will allow Keolis to supplement its energy supply at a fixed, long-term price, whilst reducing its CO2 emissions by an estimated 290 tonnes of per year.

The 26th edition of Busworld Europe is set to take place over six days at Brussels Expo in Belgium starting on October 7th. This is the world's largest exhibition dedicated to the the bus and coach industry with companies from around the globe attending this biennial event.

This challenge has been organised by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai and the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport, involving six autonomous bus builders testing their respective autonomous driving capabilities in the hope of winning a lucrative government tender in the future.
