Sales of LCV goods carrier (trucks) vehicles, gvw ≤ 7.5t, fell marginally during the first nine months (April to December) of fiscal year (FY) 2023-24 by 2.9% just under 400,000 units.

Daimler is currently building a customer trial fleet of five of its Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Trucks (semi-trailer tractors) which will be tested on German roads starting in June 2024. With a focus on long-haul transport applications, the vehicles will offer a payload of 25 tons at a gross combination weight (GCW) of 40 tons.

The company is set to supply BAE Systems with its Forsee Zen Plus battery system to equip BAE’s Gen3 powertrain on a class 7 demonstration truck. The batteries will be produced at Forsee’s new manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio, beginning in Q1 2024.
