The company is hoping to capitalise on four EU hydrogen-related projects with a total value of EUR 43 billion. These projects encompass the entire hydrogen value chain from production, distribution and end-use.

The company added Canadian bus manufacturer Letenda to its client list. Forsee announced that its Zen Plus battery systems will be integrated into Letenda’s 9-metre Electrip zero-emission buses in Q4 2024. According to Forsee, use of NMC lithium-ion cells allows the battery pack to offer up to 5,000 charging cycles, increasing its TCO.

Electra Battery Materials will use the funds to demonstrate the scalability of its hydrometallurgical black mass process, which produces recycled nickel, cobalt and lithium which can then be reused in the production of new products. This will help make the Canadian EV supply chain more sustainable, relying on fewer precious metals used in EV batteries.

Ballard launched its 9th generation 120kW fuel cell engine (FCmove-XD) for the HGV market which is set to go into series production by the end of 2024 at the Ballard factory in Oregon, with plans to move production to its future fuel cell production Gigafactory in Rockwall, Texas. 

The system works by tapping into the vehicle’s Controller Area Network (CAN) and then any seatbelt violations prompt drivers to buckle up by sending an instant notification to the dashboard. This ensures compliance with laws and enhances safety.

Ballard will supply Wrightbus with 70 hydrogen fuel cell modules (FCmove-HD+) by the end of the year. These will be used to power single and double-decker HFC buses in the UK and Germany set to go into service in 2025.

33 will serve across multiple locations in the province of British Columbia, while 51 will be used on routes in Ottawa, Quebec, and Ontario.

The EV Star REEFERX has been designed for the mid to last-mile fresh and frozen foods delivery market. Built on the GreenPower EV Star Cab chassis, the truck has a payload capacity of up to 5,500 lbs (2.5 tonnes).

Currently in series production in Joliet, Illinois, the 127,000 pound (or 57.6 tonnes GVW) truck is powered by a TM4 Sumo electric powertrain from Dana and is fitted with a 630 kWh battery pack which provides a range of 275 miles (440kms) on a single charge.

The Series B investments bring the Canadian startup’s total invested capital to USD280m.

Geotab will integrate Rivian’s fleet telematics data into the MyGeotab platform, enabling fleet managers to more accurately optimise fleet performance and plan routes.

Proven replaces Brian Dewsnup, who became Chief Financial Officer in March.
