Loveland, Colorado-based electrification specialist Lightning eMotors Inc has announced it is now offering the Lightning eChassis for Class 4 and 5 commercial vehicles.

ZF do Brasil Ltda, headquartered in Sorocaba, São Paulo state, announced its parent company, ZF Group is the main drivetrain supplier to Higer Bus Company of Suzhou, China, for an electric bus that has started trials / tests with a city bus operator in the city of São Paulo; full scale operations of several electric Higer Bus buses are expected to start during the first half of 2022.

The components manufacturer began production of the electric powertrain for Class 5-8 CVs in December 2021. It also announced supply agreements with Thomas Built Buses and Hexagon Purus.

Tatung is targeting both the EV "software and hardware" segments and will provide complete powertrain solutions to its clients, according to a statement made at an electro-mobility trade show held in Taipei in October.

Scania has launched a new diesel powertrain which achieves an overall fuel emissions reduction of at least 8% over the current generation. The new 13-litre engine, transmissions, rear axle and fuel system are designed to help Scania meet its sustainability commitments and will become Scania's primary diesel platform for the rest of the decade.

Meritor is ramping up sales of its electric powertrain for the North American market - the company is currently working with nine OEM partners. Outside of North America, Meritor is collaborating with partners in Europe, South America, and India.

Meritor will supply Akia with 60 tandem drive axles for Akia's 24-metre buses - the first order Meritor has received from the Turkish bus manufacturer, following talks which began five years ago.

The two companies will jointly develop a new series of Class 4-6 electric trucks built on ZEC chassis and fitted with bodies by EAVX.

Suspension specialist Link Manufacturing Ltd., based in Sioux Center, Iowa, has appointed Marco Morales as Director of Engineering, Suspension Controls. The company states Morales has 20 years of engineering and manufacturing experience, with a strong background in managing business growth.

Michigan-based automotive component supplier Dayco Products has announced an expansion of its range of chassis components with an additional 3,300 OE parts now available. The new parts include axle joints, tie rod ends, steering rack boots, control arms, ball joints, stabiliser links and bushes.

eWorX, which is currently undergoing testing at ZF's Schweinfurt site, connects to the vehicle battery and operates work equipment mounted on truck cranes, dump trucks, and cement mixers.

The 200-kW powertrain, to be marketed across the world, is developed entirely by Volvo and is suited for single deck and double deck applications.
