EV builder The Lion Electric Co. of Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, has announced it has received a conditional purchase order of 1,000 electric LionC school buses from Student Transportation of Canada (STC), a subsidiary of Student Transportation of America.

Hong Kong-based Ev Dynamics has announced the delivery of 70 units of its 6.5 metre COMET electric minibus to the Philippines.

The transport authority will no longer purchase diesel or hybrid buses, with the aim of transitioning to an entirely zero-emissions fleet by 2034.

The buses will be delivered by the end of 2022 for service in Amman following a USD32m tender financed by the EBRD.

Bus manufacturer Wrightbus of Ballymena, Northern Ireland, has announced two single-deck zero emission buses. GAZ Group of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, has unveiled a host of 15 new-generation vehicles at the COMTRANS 2021 show in Moscow. Three of these vehicles are built on zero-emission platforms, with two fuel-cell buses and one battery-electric bus.

Daimler Truck AG, a subsidiary of Daimler AG, based in Stuttgart, Germany, has started series production of its fully electric eActros truck, with the first completed model rolling off the assembly line at the company’s facility in Wörth am Rhein.

Mercedes-Benz Brazil has unveiled a fully electric bus chassis named the eO500U, which is specifically designed for use in Latin American cities and will be manufactured at the São Bernado do Campo plant from 2022 onwards.

The 18-tonne version of the D ZE and D Wide ZE series also comes with a fridge-connection option and a wider range of wheelbase options.
