Einride has ordered the XD Electric “in a wide range of specifications”, which the company says it will use for various customers.

The primary difference is a “sturdier” planetary gear, which Scania claims makes the G-CH gearboxes better suited to the heaviest applications (the “H” in the name stands for “heavy”).

Einride has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) to deploy 8 electric vehicle charging stations (500 charging points) over 550 km, with 2,000 electric delivery vehicles (of which 200 will be autonomous) across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah over the next five years.
