Turin, Italy-based Iveco Group NV has announced it intends to resume bus production in Italy. The firm intends to assemble hydrogen fuel cell and battery-electric buses at the Iveco plant in Foggia, southern Italy, with alternative propulsion systems produced in Turin.

The Swedish manufacturer has opened its first battery assembly plant in Ghent, East Flanders, where series production of batteries for its heavy-duty electric trucks will begin in the third quarter of this year. 

Symbio has announced the establishment of 'Innoplate' with the German rolling element bearings manufacturer - a joint venture for the production of metallic bipolar plates, a key component in hydrogen fuel cell stacks for electric vehicles. 

The car and van manufacturing corporation has entered into a binding agreement with Samsung SDI to establish a joint-venture battery manufacturing facility in Kokomo, Indiana, USA for powering electric vehicles. 

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has announced that Sigrid de Vries will assume the position of ACEA Director General on September 1st 2022. In this role, she will manage the association that unites Europe’s 16 major car, truck, van, and bus makers in the EU.

The Swedish manufacturer will extend the range of its liquid biogas trucks to 1,400 km and up to 1,000 km for its compressed biogas trucks by offering new options for fuel storage and tank configuration.

The Israeli firm is currently preparing a 130,000-sq-ft facility for the production of 'P7' Class 3-5 commercial electric vehicle platforms in Coventry, UK, which will be followed by another site in Texas, USA.

The e-Centro, Otokar states, is a completely new fully electric mini-bus available in two lengths of 6-metres and 6.6 metres. The 6.6m version has capacity for up to 32 passengers with low entry access through centrally located doors.

Stuttgart-based Daimler Truck AG has announced that it intends to begin road trials with its 500km eActros LongHaul later this year. The first prototypes of the vehicle are already undergoing internal tests, but is yet to be tested on public roads.

Air Liquide SAS, based in Paris, CaetanoBus S.A., located in Porto, and Toyota Motor Corp, headquartered in Toyota, have signed a memorandum of understanding with the intention of developing integrated hydrogen solutions, including infrastructure and heavy-duty vehicles.

Knorr-Bremse has announced that it has sold its 9.2% stake in Haldex to SAF-Holland, ending its financial interest in the Swedish brakes and suspensions manufacturer.
