Holger Lange, head of R&D for truck and bus tyres at Continental explained that the company is focused on enhancing the sustainability and efficiency of its commercial vehicle tyres​.

In July, Renault Trucks hosted journalists in Lyon, France for a media day packed with presentations, workshops, a factory tour, and a ride and drive. No substantial announcements were made; instead, the point of the event was to show how Renault Trucks’ efforts to switch to electric vehicle production have moved from an “industrial and commercial reality” to an “operational reality”.

With a passenger capacity of 84, this electric bus is more compact and is designed for tight urban spaces while offering emission-free transportation. Available in two or three-door configurations, the bus retains the features of the standard (12m) eCitaro (but is 1.5 metres shorter), including the electric drivetrain and customisable battery configurations, which provide flexibility for various city transit needs.

These 8.9-meter-long buses have been specially modified by the AD24 workshop in Harlow to enhance functionality, with more standing room and an additional door on the driver’s side for flexible boarding.

The expansion into North America will be enabled by the recent establishment of a manufacturing facility for EV charging stations in Columbia, South Carolina. This new factory aims to produce up to 10,000 chargers per year, serving both the passenger and CV markets.

Equipmake has made several additions to its senior management team, including the appointment of Dr Nicholas Moelders as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), replacing James Bishop who stepped down.

The vehicle offers a maximum payload of 6,600 kilograms and a range of up to 235 kilometres, which can be recharged in half an hour when connected to a 250-kW charging station.

Modine says that both ‘EVantage’ products are designed to work “seamlessly” in the thermal management of batteries and power electronics, as well as providing air conditioning for the vehicle interior.

Dubbed ‘PowerLion’, the new diesel driveline consists of a new ‘D3066’ (“D30” for short) engine and ‘TipMatic 14’ automated manual transmission.

Blue Bird’s electric school buses have already driven over eight million kms (5 million miles) across 41 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces. The company is also expanding its production capabilities with significant investment in its main electric school bus facility in Fort Valley, Georgia as it aims to capitalise on the significant State and Federal zero-emission school bus funding packages.

The new truck is a revamp of the ‘International HV’ range which was launched in 2019 to replace the ‘WorkStar’.

These hydrogen storage tanks will be produced at the Hexagon Purus facility in Westminster, Maryland and will be used in Gillig’s new fuel cell-powered transit buses.
