It is understood that cab and based chassis for the Rhino 5536e is a re-engineered chassis cab from China. Hyzon has delivered its first four heavy-duty Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) to American food distributor, Performance Food Group. With a range of 350 miles (563 km) and an expected refuelling time of 15 minutes, these vehicles will deliver groceries to retail stores in Southern California, USA.

DAF Trucks Vlaanderen (a subsidiary of Dutch truck manufacturer, DAF Trucks NV) has been named “Factory of the Future” by the Belgian technology federation Agoria. The criteria are based on sustainability and the use of pioneering technology and manufacturing practices.

The company reported a record production of 69,800 units (68,000 in 2022), up 1,800 from the previous year. 57,900 of these were medium and heavy-duty CF, XD, XF, XG and XG+ trucks that came off the production line (56,100 in 2022) and the other  11,900 being  LF and XB distribution trucks.

Charging infrastructure is continually being built to support additional battery electric truck deployments. DTNA’s truck manufacturing plant in Santiago TMP, Monterrey, has been designated as a new site for the second commercial vehicle charging facility in Mexico, which will be equipped with a Detroit eFill charger, boasting a charging capacity of up to 120kW.

The company announced increased sales in 2023, with 526,053 trucks and buses sold compared with 520,291 in 2022. Despite supply chain issues, it tripled its BEV sales in 2023 to 3,443, or 277% more than in 2022 (914 units).

The company has appointed Dr Christian Mohrdieck as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective immediately. The HVCH is expected to go into production in Q1 2026. This is the third contract that has been secured for this product, which is specifically designed for the heating of a BEV’s battery and cabin.
