The two companies have been working together since January 2020 on verifying the compatibility of fuel-cell systems for heavy-duty trucks.

The first three of forty-six Mercedes-Benz eCitaro articulated 18m electric buses were delivered to German public transport operator Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH. These vehicles will operate throughout the cities of Mannheim and Heidelberg in 2024.

Following its launch at the Global Public Transport Summit in Stockholm (organised by UITP in June this year), the hydrogen-fuelled Solaris Urbino 12 Hydrogen immediately underwent trials by operators in Austria, Italy and Germany.
