The station boasts a daily capacity for up to 40 Class 8 trucks, including (though not exclusively) Nikola’s own range of fuel cell electric trucks.

The 28,000-square-metre plant is being built in the Jiading Hydrogen Park, within the municipality of Shanghai.

This “ultra” low-emission method of producing hydrogen can make enough in one day, with a 16-ton system, to fuel a Class 8 truck for 3,000 miles, FusionOne claims.

Starting in Germany, Hemtron will build a hydrogen fuel network on new greenfield sites and at third-party stations, concentrating on locations near logistics centres and motorways.
