With existing offices in Sweden, Norway, the UK, the Netherlands, France, and other European markets, the Düsseldorf expansion positions Kempower to meet surging demand for EV infrastructure in Germany.

The new owner of Magirus, Mutares SE & Co KGaA, has ambitious plans for the company: by 2030, it aims to double Magirus revenues to over EUR750m per year while also reducing emissions from production to net zero.

Hübner is actively exploring opportunities to deploy its hydropneumatic suspension system in electric commercial vehicles, with ongoing discussions taking place with bus manufacturers to incorporate the technology into future vehicle platforms. Meanwhile, the company will jointly showcase a demonstrator truck with this new airless suspension system at the next IAA 2026.  

Providing 356 kilowatt hours of energy storage, these battery packs carry nickel-manganese-cobalt cells which are packaged at MAN’s facility in Nuremberg.

The ‘RE2b’, like the ‘RD1’ launched earlier this year, combines a manual ramp which folds into the floor of the bus with an electric ramp, but with greater width to make it more accessible for wheelchair passengers.

On a mixed production line, MAN can produce approximately one hundred trucks per day with diesel and battery electric drivelines, taking around eight hours to build a truck from start to finish.

The joint venture’s primary objective will be to build the “non-differentiating core” of the software-defined truck: a standardised digital platform and dedicated commercial vehicle operating system which will be open to Daimler and Volvo’s competitors.

Its e-services portfolio includes enhanced digital fleet solutions, depot infrastructure, and turnkey electrification support services to its customers.

The company recently opened a new 10,000-square-meter production facility in Lublin, Poland, as part of its efforts to expand across Europe. The plant is set up to manufacture several hundred hydrogen-powered buses each year.

MAN has added an extra 53,000 square metres, allowing the Salzgitter logistics centre to store more than 220,000 parts, including up to 12,000 e-mobility components.

This product launch aligns with Daimler Buses’ wider strategic pivot toward electrification and digitalisation.
