Following on the back of a series of large orders, the Northern Irish manufacturer is looking to expand its workforce to more than 900 employees by the end of this year and to grow its sales department.

Stellantis has already invested in expanding its capability to test all types of electric vehicle at the Orbassano Safety Center in Italy, and it is currently investing in its wind tunnel complex in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The manufacturer of truck-trailer refrigeration technologies will dedicate the new research and development centre to zero-emission technologies for markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America.

The integration of the two technologies will ensure cross-compatibility, meaning that subscribers to Switch's digital services will be able to use Nuvve's vehicle-to-grid energy aggregation management, allowing for discharge of electricity back into the grid.

The concrete mixer body, manufactured by TVS subsidiary McPhee Bros, will be mounted onto a 26-tonne D Wide chassis, powered by a 265-kWh battery system.

The corporation has made a EUR50m equity investment into Vulcan Energy, which is currently operating a zero-emission project in the Upper Rhine Valley for the extraction of critical vehicle battery elements.

Over the next five years, the German manufacturer will invest approximately EUR100m to prepare the Nuremberg facility for mass production of over 100,000 battery packs per year, starting with small-scale production in mid-2023.

The German manufacturer tested a prototype city bus fitted with an autonomous driving system which allows the vehicle to independently manoeuvre itself into place at a designated stop.

The new coach platform, fitted with Volvo's latest powertrain and a new cooling system, will power the Volvo 9000 integral range and the B13R for chassis markets.

The retrofitted fuel-cell electric bus is currently operating in a ten-week test and demonstration programme in two locations in England, as part of a project supported by UK Research and Innovation.

InoBat Auto, based in Bratislava, Slovakia, has announced it plans on building a battery R&D and production facility in Indiana, USA. The plan is supported by one of InoBat’s investors, Ideanomics, as well as the State of Indiana.
