Contracted by Walkers Crisps (owned by PepsiCo), two DAF XD Electric trucks will be used to transport Walkers products between Leicester and Coventry. Both vehicles are powered by the Einride Saga intelligent platform, to optimise routes, charging needs and achieve the highest utilisation rates.

Now a joint venture called ‘Gaussin Macnica Mobility’ (GMM), Navya has received its first customer order since the liquidation of its assets.

The order comprises 135 E-Way buses in the 12-metre version and 90 articulated buses measuring 18 metres. 28 of these will be Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) models. The buses are to be produced at Iveco’s new Italian bus building plant in Foggia, Southern Italy.

The order consists of 2,400 trucks powered by the ‘Super’ drivetrain, launched in 2021, and 100 battery electric 4x2 tractor units for regional haulage.

The vehicle will operate in the port of Rotterdam and in order to transport containers, the DAF CF Electric rigid combination is equipped with an electrically driven HIAB hook arm in combination with a 23-metre crane.
