The first project is a joint program with Czech truck manufacturer, Tatra Trucks to co-develop a specialised off-road truck prototype called the “Battery Electric Tatra Truck” with multi-speed Transmission (BETTT). Eaton will be responsible for the development of the power distribution unit (PDU) and 4-speed EV transmission.

Karsan is entering the Dutch market for the first time after signing an agreement to export two level 4 autonomous e-Atak electric buses in Q4 2024, to Rotterdam-based public transport operator RET (Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram).

Relaunch of the business is now underway with a team of around 150 employees who are focusing on bringing the 16-tonne and 18-tonne battery electric truck models back to the European market.
