Following on from a successful proof-of-concept test in July of 2021, Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana, has announced its hydrogen-fuelled ICE project is progressing to medium and heavy-duty platform development.

The Tatra Force T 815-7 fire trucks have been installed with the Cummins L9 engine, manufactured at the company's plant in Darlington, UK.

The EUR50m plant will manufacture electrolysers for the production of green hydrogen, beginning in 2023.

2,000 trucks in Air Products' global fleet will be fitted with fuel cell systems and electric powertrains supplied by Cummins.
