Chevron USA has signed a memorandum of understanding to explore a strategic alliance with engine manufacturer, Cummins, to develop commercially viable business opportunities in hydrogen and other alternative energy sources.

July 2021 saw Cummins begin testing a hydrogen-fuelled internal combustion engine as part of its proof-of-concept testing and to build on existing expertise in gaseous-fuel applications and powertrain products.

Following the recent launch of its new generation electric hybrid system, eGen Flex, Allison Transmission has announced it will supply three units with partners Cummins and bus manufacturer, Gillig Corporation to IndyGo, the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation.

New Power is the name of a new division of Cummins Inc covering electrolyser technology for hydrogen production for industry and production of electricity using fuel cells for powering stationary and mobile applications, including trains, buses, trucks etc.
