The eight-seater vehicle, which accommodates seven passengers and a safety officer, uses 42Dot’s in-house self-driving integrated platform ‘Tap’.

The Iveco SpA / Plus Inc heavy-duty truck (Iveco S-Way) installed with Plus’s level 4 autonomous driving technology (‘PlusDrive’), has hit public roads in Germany.

The company aims to be the frontrunner in the race for autonomous bus-driving technology.  

The project, known as ‘Mach2’, aims to integrate Level 4 autonomous Renault minibuses, without onboard supervision, into the city’s public transport network, which is operated by Keolis.

PlusDrive-equipped trucks will employ mid- to long-range lidar from Luminar on an exclusive supplier basis, while Plus will act as exclusive third-party supplier of AI-powered driver assistance software to Luminar’s OEM customers.
