The total number of city buses with alternative drivelines in European Union 27 countries plus the UK, Norway (NO), Iceland (ICE) and Switzerland (EU 27+4) totalled 13,466 units  comprising 6,354 electric buses (excludes trolley buses), 4,022 hybrid-electric buses, 2,883 CNG buses and 207, hydrogen (fuel cell) buses.

Danfoss acquired both the 1500 VDC converter technology and product team from Finnish renewable energy technology company, Ampner Oy, with plans to scale up its energy storage electrification portfolio.

The ETL marking is a certified indicator that the electric charging products have been tested by Intertek and found to be in compliance with accepted national standards. This now allows Kempower to enter the American market with locally-made electric vehicle charging equipment.

The high-powered 1 MW chargers are expected to go into series production in late 2024 and initially, will be rolled out in Finland and then later to other parts of Europe.

The company showcased its modular DC fast charger designed to maximise charging capacity and distribution, increasing the available kilowatts at deports.

The company has signed a framework agreement with Norwegian food retailer, ASKO, to build fast-charging infrastructure for its electric trucks at its 13 logistics depots in various parts of Norway.

Kempower is currently establishing an electric vehicle (EV) charging station production facility in Durham, North Carolina, the United States. Joyce will oversee this project as well as the strategy to grow the company throughout North America.

The company has signed a European sales and service agreement with German EV charging service provider GP Joule Connect, for Germany, Denmark, Austria, and Poland. Kempower will be responsible for the installation, operation, service and maintenance of its EV charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, which also include CVs.

The new 10,000-square-metre production facility in Lahti will double the company’s production capacity in Europe in order to meet the growing demand for its EV chargers.

The bankruptcy estate of Sensible 4 is proceeding to liquidation of the company’s assets and invites any interested parties to get in contact by 31 July.
