SKion, an investment company representing heiress Susanne Klatten, has acquired a 20% stake in the battery manufacturer for an undisclosed sum. 

The German and Chinese battery manufacturers have agreed to collaborate in the development of NMC lithium-ion batteries for the global market.

The company is recruiting more than 60 new employees at the plant, following recent growth in its wheels business.

At its event, 'Celebrate the Sun' the German tech firm unveiled a solar-powered retrofit solution, the 'Solar Bus Kit', which is targeted at operators of diesel buses who want to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and save on fuel.
